Privacy Policy for Hockey Voice

This privacy policy describes how Hockey Voice ("the app") handles your information. The app is developed and operated by Second Mouse Labs.

What the app does

Hockey Voice is a hockey announcer app. It announces goals, penalties, and roster introductions using text-to-speech, and can import player rosters by photographing a game sheet.

Data we do not collect

• We do not create user accounts or collect any personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
• We do not display advertisements.

Data stored on your device

The following information is stored locally on your device only and is never uploaded to our servers:

• Team names and player rosters you enter
• Game scores and settings
• App preferences

This data remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Data sent to Third Party servers

Two features require sending data to Third Party servers for processing. In both cases the data is processed transiently and not stored by us.

Cloud text-to-speech

When you use the cloud voice option, the text of each announcement (e.g. "Goal scored by number 9, John Smith!") is sent to a Third Party AI provider to generate audio. The text is not logged or stored after the response is returned.

Roster photo import

When you photograph a game sheet to import a roster, the image is sent to a Third Party AI provider to extract player names and numbers. The image is not stored after processing. Only the extracted player names and numbers are returned to the app and saved locally on your device.

If you prefer not to send data to Third Party servers, you can use the on-device text-to-speech voice instead of the cloud voice, and enter roster players manually.

Analytics and Error Reporting

The app uses Google services to collect anonymous usage data and error reports. This data does not identify you personally and is used to understand how the app is being used and to improve its stability.

Usage of Analytics

The app uses Analytics Service to collect anonymous usage data such as which features are used and how often. This may collect:

• Anonymous event data (e.g. that a goal was announced)
• Device type and operating system version
• Approximate geographic region (derived from IP address by Google — not stored or visible to us)
• Installations ID to provide unique push notification and analytics tracking

Error Reporting

The app collects anonymous crash reports to help us identify and fix software bugs. These reports include technical details about the error, the device model, the operating system version, and the state of the app at the time of the crash. This information is used solely for troubleshooting and improving the app.

Camera permission

The app requests camera access only when you choose to photograph a game sheet for roster import. The camera is not used for any other purpose. You can decline this permission and use the gallery to select an existing photo instead.

Children's privacy

Hockey Voice is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
